I remember when Jussi first came on the scene in 1999 I think it was. He was this new kid from Finland shooting with Standard Films. And boy he came on with a bang. His first video section was nothing short of amazing. He won a very well deserved video part of the year for it as well. 

I met Jussi soon after in San Diego at a trade show party. He was one of the nicest guys I ever met, with a constant smile. And over the course of the next few years I watched him just destroy and redefine what freestyle back country riding is. And then to go on to start Robotfood and change what snowboard films were as well. 

Later on we became good friends and started shooting together at MDP. And then one summer I visited him at his house in Finland. He showed me where he grew up skate boarding and snowboarding. And it was SO hard to imagine someone SO talented in snowboarding as he is came from such a small, small place. 

Years later we became business partners with Mizu. And Jussi also got married and started a family. The guys is just so very motivated and has an amazing view of life and the world. He really does live life to the fullest. I feel privileged to know him as a friend.
