Transworld”It seems like snowboarders are riding the streets in a lot of creative ways right now, why do you think that is?”
Jed Anderson respondses “I think its because the new kids coming up actually skateboard, too. Most of the kids are getting their ideas from skateboard videos which is where I get my ideas too.”
Interesting? I thought to myself as I put the magazine down..... I didn’t know what to think. At first I thought He thinks this was some new idea he stummbled upon and I laughed. Then I thought how awesome it is to keep the cycle going and how good it is to have fresh blood from kids “Who actually skateboard, too.” Cheers to the new breed keeping skateboarding in snowboarding. (whats the alternative? Roller blading and wake boarding? It could be worse! Not to mention there is very little snow year round.) On that note here is a couple videos that came out the year before and the year Jed was born (1990-’91) of kids doing the same thing........ Watching skateboarding videos and taking it to the snow. “Pocahontas” and the “Hard hungry and the homeless” are groundbreaking videos. Mike McEntire also made skateboard videos that where all time “sick boys” and more importantly to me “Hocus Pokus”, an h H street skate video that blew minds at the time. Mike also made films with FLF films, and a million other mind blowing videos under his “mack Dawg” title. Noah salasnek was a pro skater for H street and is my biggest influence in snowboarding. Look at Ranquet, chris roach, bryan Iguchi, roan rogers, nate cole, jimmy hallopoff, jeff pettit (another H street rider), Noah Salasnek, john cardiel,Dave seone, andy hetzel and Shaun Palmer was ever a great skateboarder.........Etc that spawned the likes of Jp walker, ingamar backman, jeremy jones, mark frank, kurt wastell....etc that spawned eddie wall, kyle klancy........ALL great skateboarders and snowboarders....The list goes on but you get the point, I mean Danny way and Pat duffy where living in squaw valley at one point!! You can’t separate it, two super fun ways to waste your life (and some of em get paid a lot of money too) So I guess what I am saying is cheers to Jed for making me think about this and keeping skateboarding as a huge influence in your snowboarding! Sorry about the Tangent.

P.s. Guch gets the closer in Hard hungry and the homeless and still snowboards more than anybody I know, he also can be seen rolling around at the jackson hole skatepark!! 20 years!!!! Unbelievable.
